Q AND A with Darlene Tallman

HOLY SMOKES i need to learn to type. it's getting bad. So, personally i know people are all going "get the vaccine". alot of us peoples can't. I am one of them, but watching others struggle with feeling like doggy doo on the sidewalk, just hurts my heart, but i thank them also for thinking of not just themselves but of myself. ok, so that is my PSA of the day.

ON TO THE QUESTIONS. I HOPE YA'LL ENJOY!!

When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I’ve always wanted to write ever since I was a little girl.

Do you have a favorite type of hero or heroine to write?

I like to write perfectly imperfect characters. So while they may eventually find that inner strength, they may have to go through to get there.

How long have you been writing, and how long did it take before your first book was published?

I started my first book in 2015 but didn’t get serious about finishing it until 2016, which is when I published it.

Do you have a routine you follow when you’re working on a book? A certain time of day when you write, or a snack you keep nearby?

I write any time of the day that the muse hits, but when I’m working on my coauthored books, it’s typically in the morning. I always have Diet Coke, my smokes and something with chocolate nearby.

When you’re writing, do you prefer silence or background noise?

Background noise for sure!

Did anyone give you writing advice when you were first getting started? Do you think it helped?

Several author peers gave me suggestions and advice which I definitely think helped.

Do you have a writer companion? What is he/she like?

Usually one (or more) of my pets is nearby. Bosco, the dog, tends to bring me squeaky toys to play with for some odd reason!

What is the scariest thing you face as a writer? How do you handle it?

Honestly? Negative reviews. Well, I know they’re for the reader not me per se, so I take their words in to see if it’s something that I need to do. If the issue is significant, I may do a live in my reader’s group.

Writers Block. Is it a problem and if so, what do you do to break through and start writing again?

As a rule, I don’t have writer’s block but I have enough projects started that if one stalls, I just switch to another one!

I can honestly say this is only page one for the Q and A portion of the thingy. but i don't wanna give away to much to soon. From what i have learned of Darlene, that woman couldn't get writers block if she was in a coma.... THEY NEVER SHUT UP!!

how amazing is that, personally the voices in MY head tell me to do weird shit, like throw a dorito at the cat.... or HEY we need another piercing or Tattoo

so we all know that Darlene writes some amazing books, she has sooo many, and honestly i love it, i can get any kind i want. romance w/ sweet, romance w/ sass, romance w/ this dude gotta get his ass kicked, she is an amazingly versatile writer and i am so blessed and thankful to be part of her worlds.

Did you know that she co writes??? yup, her sister from another mother, Liberty Parker is also amazing, and i will do a post on them collectively later. But i wanted you all to know how amazing these writers are. During the WORST PANDEMIC since 1918 Spanish Flu, this woman has been cranking out stories, stuck at home for 2 yrs!! That is right people 2 FREAKING YEARS. not being able to see her fans and readers, hurts her heart so much.

Next post i will have a list of all the Author Cons she is going to, SUBJECT TO CHANGE. cuz you never know in these trying and stressful times, what might happen and we don't want to say that "she is gonna be there" when she can't due to anything.

love you all

Dragon
